Swanseahill!

I'm not sure how i discovered the swansea-hill, but it's fast becoming one of my favourite relaxing points in my new city. It's beautiful, so quiet, peaceful, with swans swimming all over, it's always so nice to have a break here from the very busy, bustling life in the city.

Contrary to what you may think, it wasn't particularly cold this day, so it was easy to pair my not-so-mini skirt, one of my favourites by the way (as it was a gift from my sister <3) with this awfully uncomfortable but beautiful boots from new look. My staple hat and Zara coat were the little extra's that made the look effortlessly classy.

Now let's get philosophical..
I'm constantly learning how important it is to say at the very least, a prayer before setting out to do anything, regardless of how insignificant i consider it. This day, my friend couldn't get past her jokes of how 'sexy' my prayer was, she truthfully meant  'unnecessary'.
Now God has a sense of humor. Whilst totally dissatisfied with the pictures she was initially taking, a  random stranger i wouldn't have expected walked past. He directed us to these autumn leaves saying they look good in pictures and he knows for a fact as he's a photographer himself. Now not particularly sure why he would have cared enough to offer this information, we consented. Just looking at the pictures now, this undoubtedly made a huge difference. It's amazing how God makes the little things fall in place when we just trust him enough to commit everything in his hands.

Love you beauts!

Finally culottes! never say never!

*The top appears abit different in the 1st & 3rd picture, but it's more of this in reality
Culottes: similar here || Top: similar here , here and here ||

I was one of those who had  shamelessly said all the right, wrong things about primark and unless it's socks & unimportant beddings, it's not really my ideal store to shop. But I was wrong. As i now live right in the middle of the shopping centre (ok i exaggerate abit, but close enough), i randomly on Tuesday strolled into primark as usual, to collect socks & tights, which would eventually get torn in another 2 weeks. I can't begin to explain to you the joy when i found this pair of culottes and blouse. The top not only looked good but felt good quality too, like something i would splurge on in topshop. I can't tell you how impressed i was. The culottes felt quite light, but hey! it's just 14pounds, you can't ask for too much lol.
So here you go, my first primark outfit on the blog, and it's making its debut from head to toe (apart from my staple shoes of course). More of primark in the future maybe?

Let's get philosophical..
In the spirit of never saying never, wisdom is being careful about saying never. "i'd never do that.." "me? never! he/she is dumb for going about it that way.." "Never, i'd never do such.." Can you in all honestly be certain of your actions if you were in some else's shoes? Stop being overly vocal about situations you know nothing about/haven't had the opportunity to experience, least you start choking on your words. It's as much a lesson for you as it is for me.

Have a great week beautiful x

The beauty is in the wedges!

Hat:Topshop || Vest: Zara || Blazer: M&S || Shorts: Zara || Heels: Zara|| Watch: Marc Jacobs || Necklace: Aldo&Primark
(All the link will be uploaded later)
(before you judge me, read the story below)

Hey beauties,
How are y'all doing? I've been so lazy lately, but i've made sure that hasn't interfered with the blog postings! :)
Anyways i should also tell you the truth, i probably had the worst time ever shooting for these pictures. Firstly, the proposed location could not be used. As if it wasn't bad enough that we had to use a building by the road side, can you imagine that it was ant infested? GOSH! I think you already know how it ended, i danced for like 10minutes with those ants all up in my shoes and shorts. I decided to take a few pictures sitting on the car, and i was done for that day.
Worse still, i seldom like my pictures, but i didn't even like any from the shoot. Hence while i'm uploading only two pictures. lol now you have some behind-the-scenes of what bloggers go through.

I'm loving those wedges from Zara, although they are honestly super uncomfortable, might be worth getting in a size bigger than your usual size. The shorts from there as-well, is super comfortable, and have become my go-to this summer. My staple hat? i'm finding it very difficult to do-away with it for now, i'm sorry if you're bored of it already :((

Now Let's get philosophical..
I had the opportunity of visiting a local market yesterday and i enjoyed every minute of it. It was a surreal experience, so much energy, vibe and hustling. Giving up was a luxury most of the traders could not afford. They survive and live on less than what you have. We complain and want so much, but fail to realise that we have a lot we need to be grateful for. What else are you still complaining about? I want you to take a moment to say 'Thank you Lord for all i have' because you definitely have more than enough.

It's finally been a year! Thank God!

Top: Topshop Similar here || Trousers: River Island || shoes: Anne Michelle || scarf: H&M || Necklace: Zara || Watch: Marc Jacobs ||

Now lets get emotional…

I actually can't think of what more to express than gratitude to God. I'm Grateful for the strength in those weak moments, grateful for the grace to balance school and blog, grateful for all the beautiful viewers, yes you included :) Grateful for all the amazing people that shared this blog one way or the other,. I'm just grateful for this blog really. And to God, who has had to be everything to me one day at a time, its you i'm most grateful to.
Always Remember : We don't thank God because we're where we want to be, we thank God instead because we're far from where we first started.

Lots & Lots of Love

Who says you have to be the best at something to do it?

My Favourite part about blogging has always been the ability to express the complexity of my individuality in varying outfit posts. We all have that one thing we get creative & passionate about  irrespective of the pay, morale received, etc. When you find yours, keep at it, no one is saying you have to be the best at it to do it.

I wanted to be as comfortable as the weather allowed, so i paired my favourite shirt with this double sided slitted skirt from Debenhams, and though i was freezing for a major part of the shoot, i really hope my mentioning it is the only evidence you have :)

Hat: Topshop || Shirt: Republic (former USC) || Skirt: Debenhams || Shoes: Anne Michelle || Watch: Marc Jacob *I'll put up the links of similar items shortly

 Now let's get philosophical....
I now understand what David was saying to Michal in 2 Samuel 6:22. I think of it as, "When you submit/make light of yourself/serve God in-spite of the odds and criticisms, you will find favour in the sight of God and he'll lift you far above the on-lookers".
You will not always look 'cool' serving God, some will in-fact find you pretentious, but you'll need to find the courage to serve God like he's all that matters. The people you're afraid might criticise you? the people that criticize you? are the people you really shouldn't be bothering about. Read my not-so recent article on dealing with criticisms on Bella naija here. I hope it helps you to not only launch out and live a life of purpose, but help you think lightly of whatever criticism(s) you're dealing/struggling with.

Remember: Find a way to work for God faithfully, i.e with all your heart & might. Put him to test, and see if he wouldn't bless you.
I'm not special, if he did it for me, he's more than ready to do the-same for you.

Lots & Lots of Love,
The Aspiring Sartorialist.

Ripped jeans and white

There's something about wearing white, esp in spring/summer that looks fresh, clean, crisp and classy. I unconsciously find myself having at-least one white item to complete my recent looks.

P.s- who knew bandana would find itself back in stores years after it was labelled "un-cool", i definitely couldn't resist the urge to buy this from the recent or not so recent River island collection.
I was having way too much fun with the colours lol
Hair tie: River island || Shirt: Bank fashion Out of stock, but similar here || Blazer: M&S || Jeans: old, but simiar here  || Sunglasses; Celine, similar here ||
Watch: Marc Jacobs, similar here: || Shoes : Similar here || Other accessories: River Island, H& M, etc

Want to re-create this look? i've linked the stores above. And i couldn't find some of the items online, in which case, i've linked very similar items. Happy Shopping, thank me later :)

Now lets's get philosophical...
I took the time last week to actually analyse the Instagram pages of well, you can say the people i sort of admire, and yeah, i found myself having read through most of their comments, actually looking through the pages of their "haters"/ people who left hateful/spiteful comments.
I was amazed at how 90% of their critics were worse off, quite evidently at that, than the people in question. This is no looking down on anyone, and Instagram is one too small platform to judge anyone's life by, but the point however lies in this fact, you need to stop bothering about those who have the most to say about you. No one spends time talking about someone that doesn't intimidate/affect/influence them one way or the other. Easier to understand, let's use  this example, where are all of Toke's Makinwa's haters? Everyday new deal, contract, promotion, God literally shut them quiet himself. I tell you the truth, you need to find the strength to keep being who God wants you to be, and doing what you need to do, God will prepare that table before you in their presence. (see what i did there lol)
Be Encouraged.

Guess who's back!

Hey beautiful people,
Hope we all enjoyed the brief beautiful weather we had last week? if there's one thing you can count on from a british summer, it's rain. Strong winds and rain have made this coat good enough for warmth, but also light enough for the summer.  Aint nobody worried about the grey skies no more.

P.s- sorry for the pain my tummy has caused your eyes, i now know, not to pig out on good food before taking pictures .

Now lets get philosophical....
I'm so ashamed to retract my statement in the previous post (Here) but i will continue going all philosophical in my fashion posts. I was honestly just having a moment, but after much re-evaluation i've decided that feeling corny won't stop me. lol

During my get-aways, something quite surprising kept happening. I would have a stack load planned for each day, and my friends would remind me of the weather forecasts and whine about how impossible it was, especially if it was going to rain all day. With no genuine intention of being over-spiritual, i had on both occasions (in London & Plymouth) jokingly said, "i don't even care about the grey skies now, all i know is when i need to go out, the weather will be just right for me" and to our amazement, even though it would pour HEAVILY as we were dressing up to leave, the moment we hopped on the train, it would drizzle a little bit more, but when it was indeed time to do all we had planned, the sun would begin to shine.

Many a times, we set out motivated with goals, dreams etc, but let the first sight of challenge push us to give up on it's feasibility. Always remember that everything will try to stop you from starting, because once you get started, getting you to stop will be even more difficult. Stop giving challenges more power than they have, and start saying to yourself  "it doesn't matter what the predictions are, it doesn't even matter if others were not able to do this, once i step on that platform, impossible will be nothing"
Be Encouraged.

I want to know what you think, leave your comments below :)
